RE: Beta-Phase neues Deko-Feature: Displays
Yes, there is a difference.
When you have a block or item in normal dimensions it behaves exactly the same. When you have an (extremely) distorted block the way it behaves is different. Personally I do not think it will be used much but it could be considered an "advanced feature".
After playing around with it I would like to make some feature requests. I am not sure if they are already on your radar and I have no notion on technical feasibility but here goes.
Requests similar to armorstands:
- Being able to move to exact location.
When working with armorstands, we have 2 options for moving. Relative and exact. When moving an armorstand relatively we use the ~sign (/eas move ~ ~0.0002 ~).Moving something to an exact location is used when you are building up something and you want it "stacked" exactly for instance a fake wall or the way I build the horse parcour. In which case you use coordinates (/eas move -1236 64 768).
- Being able to copy and paste rotation and movement (and possibly transformation too then)
From 1 block to another
Other requests:
- Being able to add items to existing selection
By some type of add feature. This way it would be possible to move multiple displays together for instance when you want that table you just made 0.5 blocks to the left and instead of having to select each individual block, you would have a grouping you can move or rotate.
- Being able to copy paste a grouping
Not sure if this is feasible but since we are currently don't have a library or items we can use (like datapacks) it would be interesting if we could copy paste a grouping of displays. My thoughts are for instance: If you build a pole out of stacked displays, you could copy the entire pole and paste it 1 block over so you can create something in between. Going back to the horse track for instance, you'd then only need to build parts of it once. Or you could re-use that table you just build in another room.
If you have any questions about the thought or specifics, let me know
